Made the Bride a Groom a card basket...and remembered to add a label!!
Made my first Chalk Board Table Runner:
Made some Mug Quilts (I bragged to my husband that I made 6 quilts in one day!! lol)(very mini quilts) I followed the Wicked Blog Hop Tutorial found at My Quilt Infatuation
and than made the mini quilt holder following the tutorial over at Noodlehead . I used 10" squares for lining, backing and fusible fleece; 5 1/4" square for the Peltex. I measured in 2" to sew up the corners. It made the perfect holder for the 6 mini quilts! (now I need to make some Christmas ones!! I think they would make great gifts!!)
City Sampler:
and a late entry: Modern Blocks QAL Pogo Stick Had a directional pattern cutting issue, and didn't have enough fabric to change the mistake, so I improvised, and I like it!!
Oh lovely pictures - the bride looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to make a card basket! Very cute!
Thanks Kristy!! It was a beautiful day!! Hope you are feeling better really soon!!
DeleteBeautiful work, but you're going to have to enlighten me: what is a chalkboard table runner?
ReplyDelete(I was married in November as well).
Hi Laura, Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment!! Love to hear what people think!! Did you do pictures outside? And do you live somewhere warm or cold?
DeleteThe black part of the table runner is actually blackboard fabric, so you can write on it and wipe it off!! Great for fun or a buffet where you want to label all the food!!
Have a great week!!
Congratulations to the newlyweds!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely card basket. I've been looking for a place to buy labels from, may I ask where you got yours? Great job with the halloween sewing! And, as usual, your Tula 100 blocks remind me of how very far behind I am...LOL I'll catch up soon, I'm *this* close to finishing the herringbone quilt. FINALLY.
Thanks Christine!! It was a beautiful wedding!! I'm exhausted though!! lol Making the card basket was fun and I was so happy with how it turned out!! Loving the Tula although all the 1" strips are almost as bad as the small 1/2 sq triangles. Your herringbone quilt is amazing can't wait to see the final project!!
DeleteI am chatting with the company right now where I purchase my labels working to promote from my blog, so that you can use a discount code I am hoping to see that today and get it linked up. So if you aren't in too much of a rush I will send you another reply when it is all done!
So just figuring out how to create a link to http://www.etsy.com/shop/ikaprint which is the company where I purchased my labels. If you use upstairshobbyroom in the coupon code box you will save 5% not a lot but its better than nothing. I also ordered some for my mother in law in the navy and silver and they were fantastic too!
DeleteThank you so much! I appreciate coupon codes of any value! Very cool!
DeleteAWWW The bride and groom are really sweet. My heart melted when you mentioned him seeing his bride for the first time:)
ReplyDeleteAdorable mini quilt holder;)
Thanks Sara, it was a great day!!
DeleteLol, helps to inflate my work to my husband so I can justify all the fabric etc I purchase if I call everything a quilt!! Even the mini ones!!
Love the chalkboard table runner! Great idea!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sewing Mom!! Couldn't resist when I found the fabric! So many things you could do with it!! But the table runner seemed like a great place to start!!
DeleteMoving on along with your modern blocks! Love the card basket!!! Adorable and such a personal touch.
ReplyDeleteThanks Paula!! I was really happy I was able to do something for them!! Now I just need to get the quilt I promised them started! It has just been too busy!! Hopefully Christmas!!
DeleteModern blocks are fun!! I had to get inventive with this last block, directional pattern, cut wrong, and didn't have enough of the fabric to fix! Rookie mistake!! lol
Love the pic of the bride and groom! You have been busy! Lots of fun things you have created! Great card basket!
ReplyDeleteThanks Joanie! I love to stay busy creating! I was really happy with the basket too! Perfect size, worked great!!
DeleteYou have so much awesomeness going on, Sandy! I love your Tula blocks, and I'm so glad you found my coaster tutorial helpful!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing at Needle and Thread Thursday!
