Am I the only one, the norm, odd man out, or nuts? I have so many projects on the go. I'm about a year and a half into quilting and want to learn everything, try everything. I'm like a kid in a candy shop!!

I do finish projects too!! This is a quilt I made working on it straight for about a week, for a friend going through a really tough time!! ( who is doing great!!)
I guess the question is....too much, normal, nuts, par for the course??? lol
What do you think? How do you organize your quilt projects? Would love to hear from you!!
From what I see out there in blogland... You are the normal one! Seems most people have sew much on the go, all the time. And a list of UFO's also. I can't work that way... Short memory. And I lose interest if I leave a project go too long or start working on something else.
ReplyDeleteI just adore that Faith, Hope, Love, Family quilt! IT is SEW-EET!
Thank you! I think it turned out great too!! Giving a friend a hug is what I call making this quilt!!
DeleteI can loose interest in my projects too, but I like changing up what I am doing so I don't feel like an assembly line. (I get bored in the repeats)But I think I have too many choices right now!!! lol
I think you are pretty normal also! That quilt is amazing, the words are perfect! I have no idea how you did that, I have not tried anything like that yet. I have been quilting about 2 years now and have made my goal this year to expand my skills, so I have also been learning more a little at a time!
ReplyDeleteStopping by from the WIP hop :)

Thanks for you kind words!!
DeleteThe words were made using a paper piece pattern I purchased from Quiet Play. I really like how it turned out too!!
I enjoy the learning too! I don't know if you have heard of Craftsy.com great learning tool, and some of the classes are free! Craftsy BOM 2012 with Amy Gibson was an amazing learning experience!! Have fun!!
What a great little cathedral window cushion!!!!!! Remeber to breathe and enjoy!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks!! And I will try and remember that!! It is all just so much fun, and excitingly new, but you're right I need to pace myself!!
ReplyDeleteThe cathedral pincushion pattern is actually on the Moda Bakeshop Webpage, but I came across it while reading Marelize-ries.blogspot.com, she shrunk the pattern to make a keychain!! Amazing and cute!!
I like your words. I think you are pretty normal. I have 12 WiPs right now, and that's only because I had a finish last week. Must be time to start something new!
ReplyDeleteLol! That's my problem too, but even before I'm finished I see something else I want to try!!
DeleteI only work on one project at a time and don't even cut fabric for the next until my binding is completely finished, but I'm learning that I am NOT the norm. :) I think if that works for you- just rock it! Thanks for linking up to Needle and Thread Thursday!

Sounded like fun!!
DeleteI know I will never be a one project at a time girl, but am learning that too many projects at once takes some of the fun out of it too!!
I have about five quilt tops ( almost finished) and a whole collection of orphan blocks... Yes definitely , you are normal! ( and so am I ) LOL!!!

Thanks Esther!! We are wonderful, multi-taskers
DeleteI have plenty of half-done projects (not really sewing related though) that I do intend on finishing SOMEday, but I get distracted by many things - housework, the internet, shiney objects - or just go onto something new and foget about the old. I also have many projects bouncing around in my mind that I want to do, but it's highly unlikely they'll eventuate.
ReplyDeleteI think you're very normal.
BTW, I love the Faith, Hope, Love quilt, and the cathedral window pincushion.
