Well here's another... I get easily distracted by shiny new ideas....lol. So while I'm cleaning and organizing and checking in on instagram, I see this post from @sunnyincal. Beautiful. right!! Using her scraps. (great scraps by the way!!)
So I tidied up my batting and fabric scraps, and started another WIP! Even though I said I wouldn't ! ;) oops.....
And even with all the distractions and added projects, I still managed to tidy up!!
I should mention, I am doing my blocks as a quilt as you go. I had seen a YouTube tutorial from the Gourmet Quilter and thought this is the perfect time to try that. If you are new to this technique I posted pictures on my tutorial page and the link above will take you to the video I watched.
Happy Canada Day, Eh! Glad to see you are still following along and cheering us on for the Sew Fresh Quilts - Oh My, Scrappy Stars, Sandy! Thanks for the visit today.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your sewing space. The light from the windows, the work spaces, the cupboards and storage, and everything! No wonder you get started on something else once you get in there to 'clean up'.... And I can totally relate to your quilt math!

Happy Canada Day to you too!! Thanks I love it too!! My creative escape space, I am blessed!!
Deleteyour string blocks rock! I love string quilts, and I have often thought that I should always have some foundation fabric blocks cut so I can just sew a few here and there. Your sewing space is really great too!

ReplyDeleteThanks Tricia!! It is helpful to have a space to create in!! And the scrappy quilt is such a great way to use up material other ways just laying around!! Got to make room for more scraps!! ;)
ReplyDeleteNice sewing room!
ReplyDeleteThanks Vicki!! I hopped over to your blog and love the yellow and black baby quilt with the rick rack for your new granddaughter!! Adorable!!
ReplyDeleteI love string quilts! Have never tried a quilt as you go. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Cynthia! This is my first quilt as you go too! I helped a friend do table runners for her family for Christmas, after we watched a tutorial from Missouri Star Quilt Company on YouTube. That is a great easy project!! Putting these quilt blocks together will be a little more complicated. I will post something when I get there.
DeleteI'm drooling over your crafting space!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Christine!! I'm very lucky!! When we were rebuilding the house after the fire (long story, maybe I'll blog about that soon) my husband off handedly offter me the room above the garage. Needless to say I jumped on that and never let go!! lol!!
DeleteYikes! Sorry to hear about the fire! It's a beautiful crafting area, and what a thoughtful husband! Is it bad that I am eyeballing the kids' rooms as a crafting space for me for when they leave the nest?! Not that I'm counting, but only 6 years before the youngest graduates... LOL!!
