Binder Clips

Ok I can take no credit for this post......

I was scrolling through my FB feeds and came across Ioleen's post (Back Home Quilter) 

of this YouTube video.....

Brilliant is all I can say!! 

I have a bunch of these Binder Clips and never thought to use them in most of the ideas presented in the video......enjoy and you're welcome!! ;)

Did you know that you can use your Frixion Pen on paper???

So if you wanted to divide up a pattern but didn't want to ruin the pattern, you could use your frixion pen and iron it off. 

I use plastic sheet protectors and Zwipes or China Markers....but it is great to have another option in a pinch!!! White markers would work too, but they rub off to easily!

Sorry I was taking these at night....not sure if you can see, but I drew yardage boxes and when I'm trying to figure out how many units I can get in a specific amount of fabric I sometimes do it old school.

Touch of heat and it's gone!!! Too cool, guess paper is a type of fabric too.

I had come across this dress idea a few years ago 

and was glad to find it again to add it to a DDD post. 

What a cute simple little dress or top, and even better,  a chance to be able to give back a little.

Who thinks of these ideas? To turn an item we use everyday into a sweet little dress ....

and there are so many other ideas too, but first the dress.

Double Duty Day

I was stumped this month for sure...I can't say with all the busyness of Christmas that I really noticed any good double duty ideas. Not saying there wasn't any, just that I wasn't paying attention !! Then I cleaned out my hobby room and found photo albums,photo sheets,  and even slide sheets that have never been used. Which got me thinking, what else could I use these for.......

 Idea One:
Keep track of the projects and fabrics you've used with a little sampler book.

Idea Two:
Organize your gardening seed packages

Idea Three:
Organize your machine needles or flosses using the slide sheets. There is even a label on every sleeve.

Idea Four:
Organize your acrylic stamps. Double stick tape the plastic sheet to cardstock and slide them into which ever sheet size works....or use sheet protectors for this one.
Seen this idea at Joyfully Made Designs.... what a great way to keep them organized and labeled!!

I think we could go on and on with this once your brain starts to think outside the box.....stickers, gift tags, jewelry......

Have Fun coming up with your own ideas....

and if you don't have any of these laying around at your house not doing anything, keep your eyes open during garage sale season and second hand type stores or friends cleaning out their rooms....

Double Duty Day

Have you seen the Ikea plate wrack....ever thought of using it for your quilting rulers?? Lisa (@aspoonfulsugar) did over at A Spoonful of Sugar Designs. She painted hers a nice white and voila a great new tool for her sewing room!! (sorry, I asked permission to use her picture, but I didn't hear back. You can see it in her Instagram feed)

What about some louver shutters....add some s hooks and some little buckets and you can hang all kinds of sewing and crafting supplies, not to mention some of your quilting magazines and it will look amazing too, especially old wood ones fixed up!!

Last but certainly not least...this brilliant idea from Stacey (@slostudio ) over at Slo Studio!!! A curtain rod hung along her studio wall to hang her quilts !! Love this idea! The rod rings have little clips on them. I'm sure your can find these in lots of places, I know for sure Ikea sells this type.
