One Block Wonder July Link Up for Brilliant Cluster

What is it about summer that makes you loose track of the days.....

Or maybe that's just me....

This month has flown by and I can hardly believe it's link up time again!

I love both versions of the Brilliant Cluster Quilt samples. With the bold red and white in the Basically Patrick and Cotton Supreme Solids lines, it's crisp and fun and perfect for

Brilliant Cluster, July One Block Wonder Check In

I can't believe July is almost over.......summer is flying by...

and I've been so busy sewing, I forgot about doing a check in post ....
 Now it's the weekend and I am quilting my 3rd quilt in 3 weeks.....(loving that!!!) and thought I'd take a moment and check in :)

How is everyone making out with this month's block? I've heard so many wonderful compliments and it means the world to me that you take the time to share them with me!! I can't wait to see your blocks!

And here's an update on my Brilliant Cluster Quilt made with one of  RJR Fabrics 
 lines Jardin Gris...Just love the soft colours and the romantic feel of this line...

The quilting is done and  it's almost finished... just needs the binding added!! Can't wait to share!!
I shared this already, but worth repeating......
This was a project loaded with problems...mostly my mistakes (from cutting errors to newbie issues with directional fabric)....but I kept pushing on and coming up with solutions and fixes...and I also kept loving it more and more as I went.....it has turned out to be a real stunner. 💛

July's One Block Wonder is called Brilliant Cluster

Now what, right? Same question every month...😉...I bet some of you have skipped down to check out what the block looks like joined together before you every read a word of this blog post....😂

That's ok, I would do the same thing...

Now I know this isn't much of a cluster, but when you are finished making blocks each of your outer corners will make a small star too.

What if you are only making four blocks....

just add a pieced border....

and then turn your cute mini into a fantastic zippered pillow....

and the back is just as cute...

June One Block Wonders Check in and Update.......

Well we are passed the half way mark in June and I thought I would check in and see how everyone is making out with their June "Topographical Quilt" blocks? I know from checking in with our FaceBook group that a few blocks are being made.....

I would love to hear how it's going and your thoughts on this months block!

I worked hard to get my quilt done so that I could share it with you all today...finishing up the hand stitching on the binding just the other day, and I couldn't be happier with the final quilt!!

Which, if you read the previous BOM post....you already know I wasn't totally thrilled with my pattern at first....until I found the right fabric combination and block layout....

Here are the yummy colours I used...

Clover, Shamrock, Aloe Verde, Sprout, Emerald City, Kelly Green, Putting Green, Tiffany Box, Neon, 

Turks&Caicos, Notting Hill, Blue Skies, Cove, Bora Bora, Proud as a Peacock, Riviera...

I am missing a few names, but this should be enough to get your search started...

And a little bit of info on the binding too....

I am really loving the wider binding....so I cut mine at 4.25" and stitch at 5/8". It gives a thicker binding, which I love the look of,  and it gives me extra room when quilting to have the pantos stopped within a 1/2" or so space. (1/4" on quilt sandwich and 1/4" batting and backing) I talked about this in my last post too with some pictures here.

The digital pantograph pattern is called Malachite, and it was a perfect choice!!

I used Omni Thread in a Teal, which really pops on the navy backing!!💚💙💚

Now if greens and blues aren't your "cup of tea" as they say.....

How about this bright combo....

I used Millefiori in Blue, Purple and orange on the back; Bubbles in green, pink, yellow, orange, and red; Hexi in yellow on the back; Lily's Linen in orange on the back.

It's a mix of Basically Patrick prints from RJR Fabrics

It's made with the same block pattern, I just reverse the colour order for 2 of the blocks, and laid them out to form a circle/square or square/cirlce, ;)!!

I'm loving the pillow making these days ... and I found a tutorial on Sew Mama Sew 

for adding a hidden zipper

There is something so satisfying about starting and finishing a project in a day or two,
