April's One Block Wonders Link Up

Well the internet issues remain...frustrating...and I am writing this post with my phone hot spotted to my desktop computer...but hopefully, and every finger and even my toes ;) are crossed....this is the last month we will be down, sigh....
Ok enough about that let's get onto the fun stuff.....

was made with the Urban Scandinavian and Bella lines from PB Textiles

April was wonderfully sponsored by

 $30.00 Gift Certificate

and

FQ Bundle

I couldn't be happier with the way this quilt turned out and how lovely the PB Textile fabrics were. Blue isn't the only colour either, the Urban Scandinavian line comes in 6 different colour ways, plus black and white, and the Bella Suede comes in multiple colour ways and tonal prints too!!

I quilted with the Super Nova E2E digital pattern again. It is fast becoming my favourite go to  choice...

Don't forget Rita's all year deal for us too....
if you need fabric for your next months block....check her out and use the savings code
"WONDERS"

Remember you only need to have sewn one block from April's pattern to link up.... and you have till next Friday at 8am EST to post your picture!

And our Winners Are.....

Double Duty Post.....finally

I have been having more internet issues again and have sadly been absent from a lot of the posts that should be happening....
The happy news is the internet issues should be resolved by the end of the month, never to happen again!!

I love finding these Double Duty ideas and then sharing them with all of you....
because let's face it,  if I share them here I wouldn't forget them, lol!!

What a great idea for pant hangers:

and think about this as a great mini quilt wall, especially if you can find some antique pant hangers

and how about these clear shoe storage hanging systems, not just for shoes! Being clear it makes it so easy to see everything...

What about you?
What is your favourite double duty item?

What I've Been Up To:

Modern Selvage Quilting
Here's a sneak peak to an upcoming blog tour, May 10-21,  I get to be a part of. On May 19th I'll be posting for my day on the blog tour talking about Riel Nason's new book Modern Selvage Quilting. I'm joining in with 8 other bloggers and Riel to share the book, our thoughts, maybe a project or two and a give away......

Here's the project I'm working on: I've been saving selvages for years....so I had a mess of them to press...2 days worth, lol.

This is what I ended up with after pressing and having looked at the 17 different projects available... this combination just begged to happen! Solid fringed selvages.....I'm in love....

Checking in.....One Block Wonders BOM

I thought I would check in and see how your April blocks are coming along
for the One Block Wonders BOM
I've already seen some great minis over on IG and in our FaceBook group.....

by Lynn, Sharon and Ioleen

It's hard to believe we are over half way through April already.... our next link up will be happening

next Friday, April 29th

And our awesome sponsors are....

$30 Gift Certificate

and

FQ Bundle

Don't forget you only need to sew a minimum of one block to join the link up party so there is still plenty of time....

(I used varigated blue thread and the Super Nova digital E2E quilt pattern)

What I've Been Up to:

I have so much that I want to share....but most of it is for the BOM and I can't show you until the month the blocks come out......it is so hard.....so so hard....but I will show you a sneak peak of the colours I'm using for the next two months. Yes, you heard me right....I have May's quilt made, it just needs its borders and I'm already onto June or July....not sure which month I'm going to share it in yet....

RJR Cotton Supreme Solids

Yup, the next few months of sample quilts are all about the solids....What Shade Are You?

And I finished the quilt I was making for my sister and her new husband,
Of course being as it was a wedding gift, a late one.... if I get it to her before November it will still arrive in their 1st year of marriage, ;)  but still....
Don't you just love how the quilting makes the hearts look like patchwork!!

(I used Ginger Heart digital E2E quilt pattern and a pale yellow thread)

That's it for me....

Have a great week everyone.....
and
get those blocks done for the link up...

April's One Block Wonder BOM....Diamond Path

Finishing up with March:

I'll announce last months winners in a separate post this time, as I have the link running until later today!
So you may still have enough time to link your block if you got one sewed together.....

Great prizes are being sponsored by

April's block is finally here.....Diamond Path.....

I fell in love with this one....hope you feel the same way. It's another easy sew and jelly roll friendly ...if you have one laying around that you have been wanting to use!!
But I have to be honest...insert goofy grin here...I was having so much fun with this one, I actually forgot to take pictures  as I was making the blocks/quilt!! Totally "Loopy" of me! And this quilt is totally done...quilted and bound (pictures to come)!!!
So I had to cut out and make an extra lone block, just for the tutorial...oops.

This months sample is sewn in P&B Textiles Urban Scandinavian, with Bella Suede

Just love blue and white together and the pop of red just works so well....but it could have been yellow, orange or any other colour.....

I can't wait to see how you interpret this month's block, or maybe you will be inspired by the blue and white......?

Before I get to the tutorial though,  let's talk about this month's sponsors, and the fun prizes being offered for our next link up party!!!

Rita from

is sponsoring a $30 Gift Certificate

as well as the on going discount you can use for the whole year of our BOM

and

is sponsoring a FQ Bundle of Urban Scandinavian

Another great month with awesome sewing rewards!!

What you will need: 8 different prints/fabrics, plus your accent and your background fabrics

Cut on your drawn line or down the centre to separate into 2

Trim

and press open

Now lay out your pieces and start construction: (I am so sorry about these pictures, should have checked them, and it's too late now...)

In chain piecing fashion I worked across the block joining the prints to the BG. Pressed the seams. There are only a few seams that actually line up in this block and they only happen when putting blocks together, so sewers choice on how you want to press your seams.

When your column are made, you can then start joining them together.

And that's it...your first block is together. It is such a fast block.

What happens when you put 4 blocks together you ask.....
I heard you.... ;)

Here's what your mini could look like.....

or maybe this

or maybe even like this....

Have fun
and look for the next post with our March winners in it!!!
